Agartala, 1st January 2026 :   Kailashahar is preparing to host the annual Sanghati Mela 2026, organized by the social organization Ashray. The traditional fair will be held from January 2 to January 11 at the grounds near Kailashahar Airport.

Ahead of the event, a press conference was convened today where MLA and Ashray founder-president Birajit Sinha outlined the detailed schedule of the fair. The conference was attended by Gournagar Panchayat Samiti Vice-Chairman Badruzzaman, social worker Rudrendu Bhattacharya, and other members of the organization.

This year’s central theme commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda, with special discussions and cultural programs planned in his honor.

On the inaugural day, a unique initiative will highlight communal harmony: priests from three faiths will jointly recite passages from the Gita, Quran, and Bible. Organizers say this will serve as a shining example of unity and brotherhood.

The fair will feature vibrant cultural performances each day, alongside a host of social initiatives including: Felicitation of social workers and meritorious students; Blood donation camps; Art competitions; and Other community-focused activities.

MLA Birajit Sinha noted that the Sanghati Mela has been held regularly for the past 26 years, drawing participants from across the state and beyond. He urged people from all walks of life to attend, take part in the programs, and enjoy the festive spirit of the fair.
