Agartala, 1st January 2026 : A tragic accident marked the first day of the New Year in Kailashahar, where a 35-year-old man lost his life in a bike crash on Central Road late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Suman Dey, worked as a confectioner in a local sweet shop. Family sources informed that he was returning home around 12:10 am on his motorcycle bearing registration number TR02H-8574 when he lost control and collided with a road divider. The impact threw him onto the road.
Passersby, with the help of the Fire Service, rushed him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Dey, the sole breadwinner of a poor family, leaves behind his wife and two children. Though his ancestral home is in Bhagyapur, he had been living in Gopalnagar after marriage. His untimely death has cast a pall of grief across the locality.
