Agartala, January 06, 2023: The 4th Hornbill Festival was officially held at Baramura Eco Park of Hatai-Katar Hills at around 12 noon on Saturday. And the entire Baramura Eco Park square is decorated with spring colours around this festival.
Today’s grand hornbill festival program was attended by Tripura Chief Whip Kalyani Roy, Forest Department PCCF KK Sethi, Khowai Zilla Parishad’s Sabhadipati Joydeb Debbarma, Teliamura Divisional Police Officer Prasun Kanti Tripura and others.
Chief Whip Roy inaugurated this fourth Hornbill Festival by lighting the lamp. The presence of crowd was full from the entire Baramura Hill area to the Eco Park area around the hornbill festival in the winter season. Not only this, several traditional dances such as Hojagiri were performed by small children to make the event enthusiastic.
Addressing the gathering, Roy said “Hornbill Festival was started in Tripura state since 2020 by the hand of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb of BJP-led government. This year, the fourth is being celebrated. The main purpose of observing this Hornbill Festival is to save the endangered Dhanesh bird in past and present times. Later, Kalyani Roy highlighted the developmental activities of the BJP government in her speech.
She said that this development-oriented government has been working for the welfare of the common man since the change in 2018. As of today, this government has taken the entire Tripura to the seat of a virtual tourist centre due to which people are coming to enjoy a little pleasure every day from our Teliamura Baramura Eco Park to Baramura Jharna and Nonachhara’s Monthang Valley.
