Agartala, November 27: Khowai Police Station observed the second Martyr’s Day ceremony of Sub-Inspector Satyajit Mallick, who was killed in the line of duty in 2021.
The ceremony was held at around 11 am on Monday, and was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Rajiv Sutradhar, Police Officer Prasan Kanti Majumder, Subir Malakar, OC of Khowai Police Station and other police personnel. They paid their respects by placing wreaths on the portrait of martyr Satyajit Mallick.
Satyajit Mallick was martyred on November 24, 2021, when he went to arrest Pradeep Dev Roy, a resident of Sheoratali village under Khowai police station. Pradip Deb Roy had gone on a rampage and killed his wife, two daughters and disabled elder brother with a cot stand, a wooden stick and a saber. He also attacked Satyajit Mallick with the saber, causing his death.
The police station and the local community remembered the bravery and sacrifice of Satyajit Mallick, who laid down his life to protect the people from a violent criminal. They also expressed their solidarity and support to his family and colleagues.
