Agartala, 16th April 2026 : Defying severe financial hardship, Piyush Das from Sonatala in Tripura’s Khowai subdivision has secured an outstanding 97 percent in the CBSE Class 10 examinations, results of which were declared on Wednesday night.
A student of Khowai Government Class 12 School, Piyush emerged as the top scorer in the entire Khowai subdivision, setting an inspiring example of determination and perseverance.
Coming from an economically challenged background, Piyush is the son of Biplab Das, a private tutor who earns a modest monthly income of around Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000, supporting a family of three. His mother is reportedly suffering from mental health issues, adding to the family’s challenges.
Despite lacking basic study facilities, including a proper study table at home, Piyush remained undeterred. He maintained a disciplined routine, studying six to seven hours daily to achieve his goal.
Apart from limited support from two private tutors for English and Biology, Piyush largely relied on self-study and online learning platforms, including Physics Wallah, to prepare for the examinations.
He also acknowledged the guidance of his school teacher, Sanchita Das, expressing gratitude for her role in his academic journey.
Piyush aspires to become an engineer and plans to pursue the Science stream in Class 11.
His achievement has brought immense pride and joy to his family, relatives and residents of Sonatala, who see his success as proof that financial constraints cannot hinder true talent and determination.
