KVK, Sepahijala launches NICRA project and CHC inaugurated

Agartala, October 12, 2022: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sepahijala, CAU (I), Tripura organized launching programme on National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) project and inauguration of Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) for farm machineries funded by Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA) on 12th October, 2022 at Golaghati community hall , Golaghati, Bishalghar Block, Sepahijala district.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, CAU, Imphal. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the farmers, farm women, rural youth and others about NICRA project and benefit of Custom Hiring Centre (CHC).

The programme was organized by Dr Joy Kumar Dey, SMS (Agronomy), Maisnam Luwangleima, SMS (Agril. Eng), Dr Utpal Dey, SMS (Plant Protection), Dr Kha Lovingson, Farm Manager. Birendra kishore Debbarma, MLA (17-Golaghati) were present as a chief guest of this programme and start the programme by lightening of lamp. Besides others dignitaries, Biswajit Saha, President, Agri Standing Committee, Sepahijala; Pradip Baran Roy, President, All Tripura Farmers Club; Nishikanta Shil, Pradhan, Golaghati GP; Rajesh Debbarma, Social Worker, Sepahijala; Kunjha Sinha, Social Worker, Sepahijala; Dr Debabrata Paul, Assistant Director, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare; Dr Bijoy Sarkar, Assistant Professor, College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandary, RK Nagar; Dr Rajib Das, I/C Zoological Garden, Sepahijala; Dr, TV Prasad, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad & Dr JVNS Prasad, Principal Scientist, Programme Leader, TDC-NICRA, Hyderabad graced the program and expressed their views about benefits of climate resilient agriculture in recent years.

During the programme Dr Joy Kumar Dey, SMS (Agronomy), briefing about the NICRA project to the farmer. The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Ratan Kumar Saha, Dean, College of Fisheries, Lembucherra and supervision of Dr Shatabhisa Sarkar, Senior Scientist & Head of this KVK. Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) for farm machineries has been inaugurated during the programme.

A total of 72 farmers, farm women, rural youth from Golaghati gram panchayat and nearby panchayat were actively participated in the programme. In addition to this programme there was also organized one Animal Health Camp by KVK, Sepahijala.

A total 57 number of farm animals treatment are done by Dr. Bijoy Sarkar, Assistant Professor, College of Vetenary Science & Animal Husbandary, RK Nagar, Tripura; Dr Rajib Das, I/C Zoological Garden, Sepahijala, Tripura and Dr Kha Lovingson Farm Manager, KVK Sepahijala, CAU (I) Tripura. Beside this KVK, Sepahijala also distributed different types of medicine to the farmers for farm animal.
