Land search is on for parking zone to decongest traffic in Agartala city

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, May 25, 2023: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder have given strict instructions to the administration to decongest Agartala city because on the one hand, the number of vehicles is increasing excessively in the city, on the other hand, due to the lack of parking zone, cars and bikes are parked everywhere in the city causing traffic jams on the busiest roads.

Consequently, the city dwellers sometimes get involved in verbal disputes with the drivers from the bitter experience. And taking this matter seriously, the Chief Minister and the Mayor of the AMC have ordered an investigation to build a parking zone in the city to relieve traffic congestion.

Md Sajjad, assistant commissioner of AMC, visited the additional land along the road in various parts of the city including Orient Chowmuhani on Thursday. On that day, the corporation official was accompanied by police and traffic personnel.

Lands along the road are measured and selected for parking zones. Later, the official said that some motorists are parking small and medium cars along with bikes everywhere. Pedestrians have to face problems.

The Chief Minister and the Mayor have directed to select and designate places for parking zones in Agartala city. Accordingly, the administrative staff is allocating the space for the parking zone and it may take a month to complete the entire work. This is what the official expressed in his opinion.
