Agartala, 17th June 2025:  Several left-wing parties including CPIM, CPI, Forward Bloc, CPIML and RSP staged a protest in the capital city today condemning the alleged Israeli massacre in Gaza. The demonstration, organized from the CPIM West District Office saw party leaders and supporters taking to the streets in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Leading the procession, CPIM leader Pabitra Kar stated that the protest was part of a nationwide movement initiated by the party’s all-India leadership. He emphasized that the demonstration aimed to strongly condemn Israeli actions in Gaza.

Meanwhile, in Khowai district, CPIM organized Palestine Solidarity Day at Subhash Park where several party leaders including district secretary Padma Kumar Debbarma and subdivisional secretary Nirmal Biswas addressed the gathering. Other leaders present included Aloy Roy, Subodh Debbarma, Manoj Das, Kanan Dutt, Vidyacharan Debbarma, Biswaranjan Debbarma and Bishnujit Dastidar.

Invited member of the party’s state committee Palash Bhowmik accused Israeli forces—allegedly backed by the United States—of perpetrating violence in Palestine. He described the situation as one of the most brutal crackdowns in recent history. Bhowmik further stated that left-wing parties across India, from Delhi to Chennai and Mumbai to Kolkata, were marking the day to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and demand an immediate cessation of hostilities.

According to organizers, the protest was part of a broader global movement led by peace activists, progressive groups, and anti-war advocates denouncing the military actions in Gaza. The CPIM emphasized that Palestine Solidarity Day was a collective call to condemn the reported atrocities and demonstrate unwavering support for Palestinian civilians.

Protest rallies and gatherings were reportedly held in multiple locations across India, reinforcing the left parties’ stance against the violence in Gaza.
