Agartala, 4th July 2025: A seven-member delegation of legislators led by MLA Pramod Reang embarked on an elaborate inspection of hostels constructed for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students across various subdivisions of North Tripura district.
The inspection began at the Kadamtala SC-ST Boys’ Hostel, where the team assessed infrastructure conditions and overall hostel management. Alongside Reang, the delegation included MLAs Ranjit Das, Ramapada Jamatia, Ramu Das, Sudip Sarkar, Swapna Majumder (the sole woman legislator in the team) and MLA Mailafru Mog.
The officials were joined on-site by SDM Sajal Debnath, Executive Engineer from the Tribal Welfare department Sujit Patari, Sub-Divisional Welfare Officer T. Mog, BDO of Kadamtala RD Block Sanjib Debnath and Principal of Kadamtala Higher Secondary School Shubhasish Debnath.
The team toured the hostel premises, taking stock of infrastructural gaps and interacting with students and guardians to understand their concerns and suggestions. They also spoke with the hostel superintendent and maintenance staff to review operational responsibilities.
The delegation then proceeded towards Damcherra, Kanchanpur and Jampui Hill under the Panisagar subdivision for further inspections.
