Agartala, February 08, 2023: Left Front and Congress leaders staged dharna in front of Dharmanagar police station on Wednesday demanding withdrawal of false case against workers and removal of OC of the Dharmanagar police station.
A demonstration was held in front of the Dharmanagar police station on Wednesday by the Left Front and the Congress demanding the withdrawal of false cases against their workers. A protest dharna was staged by the Left Congress demanding trial and removal of the OC of Dharmanagar police station for systematically registering false cases against the opposition party workers.
North District Left Front general secretary Amitabh Datta and Congress party’s candidate for 56-Dharmanagar assembly constituency Chayan Bhattacharjee and other supporters were present on behalf of the Left Front.
After the sit-in-demonstration lasted for about half an hour, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Debasish Saha reached the spot and assured that the whole matter would be looked into through investigation.
The protestors said that if immediate action is not taken, they will form a larger movement. They said that they will develop their movement in a democratic way by keeping faith on the Election Commission.
