Agartala, 11th February 2025: The 35th Tripura Industries and Commerce Fair witnessed a heartwarming event organized by the Longtharai family, which felicitated individuals from various professions who play an essential role in our daily lives. The event took place yesterday evening at 6:30 PM in front of the Longtharai stall at the International Fair Ground premises in Hapania.
The ceremony celebrated the contributions of tailors, sanitation workers, laborers, rickshaw pullers, masons, carpenters, leather workers and fishermen recognizing their hard work and dedication. These professions often overlooked received the much-deserved appreciation and acknowledgment.
The event was graced by Chairman of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in Viveknagar, Amtali, Swami Hitakamananda Maharaj, who served as the chief guest. The special guest was the MLA Mina Rani Sarkar. Also present were the CEO of the Longtharai family Bhabesh Debnath and Director Krishnadhan Debnath.
In his speech, Swami Hitakamananda Maharaj encouraged everyone to respect their work and carry out their duties with pride. “Never consider your work small,” he emphasized. “Perform your duties with respect and with your heads held high.”
The MLA Sarkar expressed her gratitude to the Longtharai organization for hosting such an exceptional event. She said, “This event beautifully highlights the importance of every profession and the invaluable contribution each individual makes to our society.”
The General Manager of the Longtharai organization, Subrata Debnath extended his thanks to the guests and the hardworking workers for their presence. The honored individuals received “symbolic awards” in recognition of their contributions.
Among those felicitated were Deepal Rishi Das, a leather artist; Aarti Malakar, a sanitation worker; Ashek Ali, a day laborer; Gopal Deb, a mason; Nasima Begum, a tailor; Kartik Nama, a carpenter; Humayun Miah, a rickshaw puller; Mahadev Nama, a fisherman; Kajal Sarkar, a carpenter; and Bijan Karmakar, a blacksmith.
