Man accused of attempt to rape of minor, FIR files

Agartala, August 31, 2023: A young man was again accused of trying to rape a minor girl. The incident took place at Netaji Subhash Colony in the Sekerkot area under the Kamalasagar Assembly. According to the details of the incident, on August 21, Bijay Das, of the same area, tried to forcibly rape a 13-year-old minor girl in the area by tempting her with chocolate in the absence of her family members.

Later accused Bijay Das managed to escape after the minor girl started screaming. Later, when the minor girl’s mother returned home from work at the end of the day, the minor girl told the entire incident to her parents. The news of this incident went to the local leaders of the area. Later the local leaders of the area got busy trying to cover up the whole incident through the arbitrary meeting.

The leaders also held a meeting on the incident in the area, in which they decided to pay a fine of Rs 5 lakhs to the girl’s family, but the family of the minor girl was not satisfied with it. After the local leaders asked the family of the minor girl not to file a case, the family of the minor girl finally decided to file a case for exemplary punishment of the accused in the incident. Finally, today the minor girl’s family filed a case in written form with the Amtali police station, alleging attempted rape against the accused, Bijoy Das.
