Agartala, 12th February 2025 :    A 52-year-old resident Ana Mia of Koralia Mura area under ward no. 13 of Sonamura Nagar Panchayat has gone missing on his way to Chennai for work. Ana Mia, son of the late Sayed Ali, left for Chennai on February 6, boarding an 8 pm train from Agartala railway station to Kolkata. He last spoke to his family on February 8, before departing from Sealdah railway station for Chennai.

Communication with Ana Mia ceased, and subsequent calls to his mobile phone went unanswered. Later, a boy in Orissa discovered Ana Mia’s mobile phone at a railway station and contacted his family. The boy provided his number for them to retrieve the phone.

The missing person’s wife Hasu Begum filed a missing diary with the Sonamura police station on February 11. She appealed to the administration for help in finding her husband. One of Ana Mia’s sons works in Chennai, and the family had hoped for better financial prospects.

The disappearance has prompted Ana Mia’s brother-in-law, Ismail Mia, and the media to appeal to the authorities for a thorough investigation.
