Agartala, 12th February 2025 : The foundation stone laying ceremony for the Melaghar Motor Stand in the Sonamura subdivision took place on Wednesday with a vision to propel India towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. The event was attended by Nalchar MLA Kishor Barman, who emphasized the government’s commitment to infrastructural development with the 2047 goal in mind.
The modern motor stand, estimated to cost around Rs 5 crore is a significant step towards enhancing the region’s infrastructure. In a virtual ceremony from Jirania, the state Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha simultaneously inaugurated the Jirania Motor Stand and laid the foundation stone for the Melaghar Motor Stand. MLA Kishor Barman unveiled the foundation stone plaque at the event.
In his speech, MLA Barman highlighted various other development projects, including the Melaghar bypass, aimed at improving the area’s connectivity and overall growth.
Barman was accompanied by Melaghar Municipal Council Chairperson Anamika Ghosh Palroy, Sonamura SDM Mahendra Kambe Chakma and social workers Uttam Das and Shubhrajit Das.
