Agartala, 13th April 2024: With the Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, political fervour is reaching its peak in West Tripura. The INDI Alliance, in a final push for votes, conducted a series of meetings and processions in the Jirania, Mandwai, and Khumulwng areas on Saturday. Asish Kumar Saha, the alliance’s candidate for the West Tripura seat, was the focal point of these events.
The day’s program saw the convergence of former minister Manik Dey and Pabitra Kar, alongside a robust turnout of Left and Congress activists. The gatherings underscored the alliance’s commitment to a vigorous campaign.
Manik Dey, addressing the crowd at a roadside gathering, emphasized the need for a shift in power at the center. He called upon the electorate to exercise their democratic rights and vote for change, expressing confidence in the BJP’s defeat due to widespread discontent with the current government.
Asish Kumar Saha, the candidate at the heart of the campaign, articulated the election as a pivotal battle to reclaim democracy from undemocratic forces. He rallied the public to join the movement to safeguard the constitution and cast their votes for the Indi Alliance, marking a decisive stand for democratic principles.
