Agartala, 13th April 2024: In a significant political development, the state is poised to witness by-elections in 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency concurrently with the Lok Sabha elections. In a show of strength and solidarity, a bike rally was organized from the Pragati School ground here on Saturday, rallying support for the by-election candidate, Dipak Majumder. The event was graced by the presence minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, and the candidate himself, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Ratanlal Nath confidently proclaimed that the opposition party’s candidate’s security deposit would be forfeited, citing a lack of significant contributions to the Ramnagar constituency by the opposition’s candidate, Ratan Das. Minister Nath’s assertion underscored the anticipated victory of the BJP in the by-election, which he predicted would be secured by a substantial margin of votes. Furthermore, he forecasted a political shift, suggesting that the CPM would lose its status as the opposition party post-election, and while the Congress might secure one MLA, their presence too could diminish.
Echoing the sentiments of victory and progress, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury invoked the Prime Minister’s slogan, “Abki bar 400 par,” which he claimed has resonated with the electorate. The minister outlined the NDA’s ambition to secure a third consecutive term with over 400 seats, with the BJP projected to win 370 of those. Minister Chowdhury’s speech highlighted the people’s inclination towards development and their rejection of what he termed the ‘evil alliance,’ reinforcing the BJP’s confidence in triumphing in both the Lok Sabha and the upcoming by-elections.
The political scenario is charged with anticipation as the state gears up for the elections, with the BJP’s campaign gaining momentum and opposition parties bracing for a formidable contest.
