Mason injured through rod cutting machine accident in Dharmanagar

Agartala, September 07, 2023: A mason suffered a severe leg injury after a rod cutting machine ran over his feet while he was working at a house in Dharmanagar on Thursday morning.

The victim, identified as Mithun Nath, 34, of Ward No. 6, Kadamtala, was rushed to the Dharmanagar district hospital by the fire department personnel who were informed by the locals.

According to the police, Nath was doing masonry work at a house near Radharaman Ashram in Dharmanagar as usual. He was using a rod cutting machine to cut rods for the construction. However, due to negligence, he lost control of the machine and it sliced his leg. He started bleeding profusely from the wound.

The neighbours and residents who witnessed the incident immediately alerted the fire department. The firefighters reached the spot and rescued Nath from the machine. They took him to the hospital where he received first aid. The doctors said that the bleeding has stopped for now but they have kept him under observation as he lost a lot of blood.

The police have registered a case of accidental injury and are investigating the matter. They have also seized the rod cutting machine for further examination.
