Agartala, January 18: A blood donation camp was held at Sakhicharan Vidyaniketan on Thursday, with the participation of Agartala Municipal Corporation’s Mayor Dipak Majumdar, Corporator Ratna Datta, and other school teachers. The camp was organized under the slogan “Hasbe Paathi Pachabe Pran”, meaning “Give half, save a life”.
Majumdar appealed to the people of the state to donate blood regularly, as there was a severe shortage of blood in the government and private blood banks. He said that the Chief Minister, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, had also urged the people to come forward for this noble cause.
He praised the people of all sections for responding to the Chief Minister’s call and donating blood generously. He said that such camps would help maintain the balance between blood demand and supply and save many lives.
