Mayor Visits Flood-Affected Areas, Oversees Relief Efforts

Agartala, 2nd June 2025:  In the wake of the recent floods, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar visited the affected areas in Ward No. 8 of Indranagar and Ward No. 43 of 13 Pratapgarh today to assess the health services and overall condition of the flood victims.  He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, Councilor Shampa Sen Sarkar, and other officials during the inspection.

Later in the day, a food distribution drive was held at the relief camp set up at Rajnagar High School in South Jayanagar, where essentials were provided to displaced families. The program was conducted in the presence of the  Secretary of the Ramkrishna Math, Maharaj Swami Shantanunanda Maharajji. Addressing the flood-affected residents, Mayor Majumdar urged everyone to remain calm and assured that the administration is taking all possible steps to manage the situation. “This is a difficult time, but there is no need to panic. I request everyone to reach out to the local administration for any kind of assistance,” he said.
