Agartala: September 21. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today claimed that without cooperation of media, the real development of society is not possible and media is the mirror of society.

While inaugurating first state conference of Tripura Newspaper’s Society at Rabindra Bhawan today, the CM said that despite the growth of various social media, we have to rely on newspapers.

“Journalist and newspaper’s owners should ensure that a news item never becomes a personal attack. The state government is aware of the various demands of journalists and owners associated with media for the development of media. The government is sincere in fulfilling their demands. Initiatives will definitely be taken in this regard”, the CM said.

On the occasion, President of Tripura News Paper Society and Senior Journalist and Editor of Syandan Patrika Subal Kumar Dey said that the media helps the government by providing accurate and constructive news.

In his welcome speech at the conference, Arun Nath, joint convener of Tripura Newspaper’s Society and senior journalist, said that the media generally: works to protect democracy. Media is constantly working to bring democratic rights to people.
