SC people takes benefits of central, state schemes, says Bhagaban at Mega loan disbursement camp held

Agartala, September 21, 2022: SC Welfare minister Bhagaban Das on Wednesday claimed that the path of development is now widened for the people of Scheduled Caste community across the state as they are striving hard to reach the pinnacle of development by taking advantage of the schemes and services of the central and state governments.

While addressing at the inaugural ceremony of the Mega Loan Disbursement Camp organized by Scheduled Caste Cooperative Development Corporation Limited at Agartala Town Hall on Wednesday, Das said that loans were disbursed among 396 people for fish culture, 62 people for dry fish, 6 people for auto-rickshaws, and Rs 86.4 lakh loan to two people for small business. Beneficiaries will receive their loan amount directly into their bank account.

Minister also said that there are 34 scheduled caste communities in the state. During the tenure of previous governments, they were deprived of various privileges by interfering with their rights. As a result, the people of this society are still far behind in almost all fields. But the present government is working on the development of this society with a new direction and mindset. Awareness is being given through leaflets, handbills etc. from the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department to inform the people of this section about the benefits for their development so that the people can be aware of their privileges and rights.”

MLA and Chairman of SCCDCL Ranjit Das, Director Tapas Das, Corporation’s GM Debjani Chowdhury, other members of the Board of Directors and others were present. In the event, the guests handed over checks to some of the loan recipients as a symbol. Beneficiaries belonging to scheduled castes of the state participated in Mega Loan Disbursement Camps.
