Mega eye screening camp benefits Ayushman Bharat patients in Agartala

Agartala, 3rd August 2025:  A mega eye screening camp offering free cataract check-ups, surgeries and phaco procedures was organized under the Ayushman Bharat scheme led by ‘The Hope’ in collaboration with a local social organization. The initiative took place at the Apna Ghar Old Age Home in Barjala, bringing specialized healthcare to elderly residents.

Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumdar, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and local councillor Jagadish Das were among the dignitaries present. Mayor Majumdar commended the organizers for their compassion toward those abandoned or mistreated by their families, emphasizing society’s collective responsibility to support the marginalized.

He assured continued assistance from the community, urging residents to contribute towards the well-being of the elderly women living in the shelter. “The mothers at this home deserve sustained care and good health, and we must all extend a helping hand,” the Mayor said.
