Agartala, 3rd August 2025:   In response to growing concerns over targeted violence against Bengalis across various parts of India, members and supporters of the organization Amra Bangali staged a protest demonstration outside their state headquarters here today.

The protest was led by Amra Bangali’s state committee with the organization’s secretary Gouranga Rudra Pal addressing the media personnel. Rudra Pal expressed deep concern over what he described as increasing harassment of Bengalis, who are allegedly being branded as “foreigners” and “Bangladeshi infiltrators” in multiple regions.

“Bengalis are being falsely labeled and subjected to discrimination despite their historic role in India’s freedom movement,” Rudra Pal said. “This land is our motherland, our fatherland. Bengalis gave their lives for the independence of this nation. Yet today, we are being attacked and dehumanized in our own country,” he added.

The protest highlighted calls for national awareness and solidarity, demanding an end to what organizers referred to as ethnic profiling and violence against Bengali communities. Additional leaders from Amra Bangali were present in support of the demonstration.
