Agartala, 29th August 2025: Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School, one of Agartala’s oldest educational institutions, has instituted two new scholarships in memory of its revered former teacher, Late Sachindra Kumar Chakraborty, and his spouse, Late Dulali Chakraborty. Beginning in 2025, the awards will be presented annually to the top-performing students of Class 9 and Class 11.
Each recipient will receive a gold-plated medal and a financial grant, symbolizing both academic excellence and the enduring legacy of Chakraborty’s values. Known for his honesty, dedication, and fearless commitment to education, Chakraborty devoted his entire career to MGM Higher Secondary School, declining other professional opportunities to remain with the institution he considered family.
His spouse, Dulali Chakraborty, stood beside him throughout his journey, quietly supporting his mission to nurture students into not just educated individuals but compassionate human beings. The scholarships, established by their family, aim to carry forward his vision of equitable and value-based education.
The family expressed gratitude to the school authorities for their support in launching the initiative. School officials hope the gesture will inspire current students to uphold the principles of integrity, sincerity, and lifelong learning embodied by the late educator.
