Agartala, 19th July 2026: As part of the ongoing Van Mahotsav 2026 celebrations, the Hon’ble Minister for Forest, Environment and other departments, Animesh Debbarma, flagged off a Cycle Rally from Heritage Park, Agartala to Sepahijala Zoo, promoting environmental awareness, sustainable living, and the importance of forest conservation.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, officials, and nature enthusiasts, highlighting the collective commitment towards protecting the environment and encouraging eco-friendly practices.
At Sepahijala Zoo, the Minister held an interactive session with the students of Khudiram Basu English Medium Higher Secondary School, where he emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and the role of young people in building a greener and more sustainable future.
As a symbolic gesture under Van Mahotsav 2026, Shri Animesh Debbarma also planted a tree within the Sepahijala Zoo premises, reaffirming the government’s commitment to increasing green cover and fostering environmental stewardship.
The programme concluded with a call for collective action to protect forests, conserve wildlife, and promote sustainable development for future generations.
