Agartala, June 29, 2023: The Government of India observes the birth anniversary of Professor Prashanta Chandra Mahanalbish on June 29 as the National Statistics Day.
This day is also celebrated in the state on Thursday. The day is observed to create awareness among the youth about the role of statistics in socio-economic planning and policy making.
A seminar was organized to celebrate the day at the Conference Hall of the State Guest House here on Thursday. Minister Bikash Debbarma officially started this seminar.
MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Special Secretary of Planning department Abhishek Chandra, Director N Debbarma and many others were present on this occasion. In this seminar, the minister Bikash Debbarma highlighted the importance of statistics for sustainable development.
