Agartala, 3rd February 2026: A tragic incident occurred when a former headmaster lost his life after being hit by a vehicle belonging to the security convoy of Minister Shuklacharan Noatia. Following the incident, the minister visited the residence of the deceased teacher on Monday and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
The incident took place on January 28, when Amar Chan Choudhury, a former headmaster and resident of the Purba Lakshmibil area, was seriously injured after being hit by a security vehicle attached to Minister Shuklacharan Noatia. He was immediately rescued and taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire locality.
Speaking to the media, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia said that the administration is treating the matter with utmost seriousness and that all necessary steps will be taken. He added that he personally met the bereaved family of the late Amar Chan Choudhury and expressed his deep sorrow over the unfortunate incident. The minister also prayed for the eternal peace and salvation of the departed soul.
Standing by the family in their time of grief, the minister provided immediate financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh. He further assured that the matter would be discussed in detail with the Chief Minister in the coming days and that additional support would be considered if required.
