Agartala Feb 04: Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty applied his star power in the poll-bound state as he joined the campaign in support of BJP state general secretary Papiya Dutta, candidate from 6-Agartala assembly constituency seat.
A grand roadshow was organized by the BJP in Agartala’s Indranagar area from where the actor- turned politician sought votes from the common people for Papiya Dutta.
Meanwhile Papiya Dutta who on earlier occasions claimed a huge gap between common people and sitting MLA of the area expressed hope of comfortable win from the seat with marginal votes.
She said, “Getting huge response from the people. Besides, the excitement and dedicated work of the party karyakartas as well as presence of ‘Mahanayak’ Mithun Chakraborty has added fuel to my spirits of win”.
Stepping up its election campaign with Tripura assembly elections BJP is leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters.
With a galaxy of star campaigners of the party comprising national level leaders are reaching the state one after another to seek votes in support of BJP candidates put up in 55 assembly constituencies of Tripura.
