Agartala, December 16: Union minister of state Pratima Bhoumik emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to housing for all, stating that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has set in motion the journey to provide homes to every citizen under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The minister made these remarks at a function organized at Jolaibari RD Block under Charakbai Gram Panchayat in South Tripura district on Saturday.
During the event, MoS Pratima Bhoumik highlighted the initiation of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra on November 15, dedicated to offering opportunities to the last strata of society. Prime Minister Modi has launched a total of 18 projects aimed at providing extensive benefits to the common people.
MoS Bhoumik mentioned that since the formation of the BJP coalition government in Tripura in 2018, the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has ensured that houses are provided to the people of the state. Additionally, he revealed that 26 lakh people across the state have already benefited from the Prime Minister’s Mudra Loan Scheme.
In a critical tone, MoS Bhoumik remarked that in earlier days, there was limited access to Panchayat Pradhans for discussions on the Awas Yojana. The facilities were not extended to those in need, and government privileges were only enjoyed by those in power. The ‘Developed India’ project aims to break such barriers and ensure inclusive development for all citizens.
