Agartala, August 26 : Union minister of state for social justice and empowerment, Pratima Bhoumik on Friday inaugurated the traditional two-day long ‘Bhadra Mela’ at the premises of Maa Kamala Sundari Temple at Kashba under Kamalasagar assembly constituency in presence of MLA Subhash Chandra Das, Sepahijala Zilla Sabhadipati Supriya Das Datta, Bishalgarh SDM, Panchayat Samiti chairperson and others.
Inaugurating the ‘Bhadra Mela’, the union minister Bhoumik said “The fair is our meeting ground, irrespective of caste and religion, all sections of the people participate in the fair. In the last two years, due to the COVID pandemic, it was not possible to hold the fair in a grand manner. This year, thousands of visitors from different parts of the state participated in the fair on the first day with new enthusiasm. Although the people of different places will participate in the fair in the coming days. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people.”
After the inauguration of the fair, various cultural programs are held. It is to be noted that this is the first time that the ‘Bhadra Mela’ of Kamalasagar was started without inviting the local MLA. In view of which pressure has given a lot of space among the people of the area and also among the workers in the ruling party.
