Agartala, 23rd December 2024: A fire broke out in the CT scan room of the main referral GB Hospital on Monday morning, causing widespread panic and disrupting services. Hospital staff immediately alerted the fire and emergency services upon noticing the blaze, which was quickly contained by responding firefighters.
According to reports, the fire was initially believed to have been caused by a short circuit, though investigations are ongoing. Smoke enveloped the CT scan room, but the damage was minimal due to the swift action taken by the fire brigade. The timely intervention prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the hospital.
While the fire was under control, the incident has caused significant disruption to hospital services, particularly for patients who had come for CT scans. The affected services were closed for an extended period, leaving many patients in distress.
