Mystery Surrounds Disappearance of Housewife in West Nalchar

Date:

Agartala, 21st  May 2026:  A wave of concern has gripped the West Nalchar area after a housewife mysteriously went missing, leaving behind her two-year-old breastfeeding child. The incident has created panic and emotional distress within the family and the local community.

According to family sources, Sohail Barman was married to local resident Bimal Namah around eight years ago through a social ceremony. The couple has two children — a six-year-old and a two-year-old infant. Family members said the younger child is still heavily dependent on breast milk.

The family stated that on May 8, Sohail Barman left home saying she was going to the market. However, she did not return even after several hours had passed. Worried family members began searching for her at relatives’ houses and other possible locations, but no trace of her has been found so far.

With no other option left, her husband, Bimal Namah, filed a missing diary at Melaghar Police Station. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter. However, it is still unclear whether this is a simple missing case or if there is any other mystery behind the disappearance.

Meanwhile, the absence of the mother has deeply affected the couple’s two-year-old child, who has reportedly been crying constantly for her. Family members are struggling to care for and console the infant.

Speaking to reporters, husband Bimal Namah made an emotional appeal, requesting that anyone with information about his wife’s whereabouts contact Melaghar Police Station or inform the family immediately.

The incident has sparked widespread concern across the area, with residents now looking toward the police administration for a swift breakthrough in the case.
