Agartala, 23rd January 2025: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a legendary leader in India’s freedom struggle, was honored on his 128th birth anniversary at a vibrant program organized by Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha participated in the event, which began with a colorful procession by the students.
Chief Minister Saha hoisted the national flag, accompanied by former MLA Dr. Dilip Das, Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumdar, Corporator Ratna Dutta, and other dignitaries. The procession, held in Agartala city, featured various themes, including the life of Ramlala and awareness-raising messages, generating great enthusiasm among the children.
“Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is remembered as a legendary leader in the freedom struggle,” said Chief Minister Saha. He highlighted Netaji’s departure from the Congress party to form the Subhas Chandra Forward Bloc, demanding immediate and complete independence from British rule. “The British authorities imprisoned him eleven times. No one could stop him,” he added.
Chief Minister Saha urged the new generation to learn about Netaji’s life story, emphasizing its importance in the context of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the country. “His immortal saying – ‘You give me blood, I will give you freedom’ is still etched in the minds of the countrymen today,” he remarked.
He also noted Netaji’s unwavering ideology during World War II, his secret travels to the Soviet Union, Germany, and Japan to seek cooperation against the British, and his leadership of the Azad Hind Fauj. “Netaji’s patriotism and his contribution to the freedom struggle are a source of inspiration for all of us,” concluded Chief Minister Saha.
