NLFT & ATTF returnees hold meeting at Ampi to push for govt support

Agartala, 26th September 2025 :  In a significant step toward reintegration and advocacy, returnees of the NLFT and ATTF convened a crucial organizational meeting in Nagrai village under Ampi Nagar block, Gomati district. The event was spearheaded by Mati Debbarma, president of the central committee of the Tripura United Indigenous Peoples Council (TUIPC).

The gathering focused on securing government amenities and addressing both fundamental and constitutional demands of the Tiprasa community. Discussions emphasized unity among returnees to collectively urge the government for prompt action on long-standing issues.

A major outcome of the meeting was the unanimous formation of a new TUIPC block committee for Ampi, comprising 20 members dedicated to championing the interests of NLFT and ATTF returnees. The newly elected leadership includes Debraj Jamatia as president, Samir Debbarma as vice president, Babyjoy Reang as secretary, and Siduk Roy Jamatia and Larence Jamatia as assistant secretaries.

The meeting was attended by returnees including Suran Debbarma and Ashiram Reang, among others marking a renewed push for organized representation and dialogue with the government.
