Agartala, 30th October 2025:  The National Law University (NLU) Tripura, in collaboration with the District Administration, Sepahijala, organized a two-day exposure visit on October 28–29 for around 80 girls rescued under the state government’s Mission Sankalp scheme.

The initiative aimed to inspire, empower, and counsel young girls who have been given a new beginning through the mission against child marriage and gender-based vulnerabilities.

During the visit, the participants toured the NLU Tripura campus and engaged in interactive and ice-breaking sessions with students and faculty members. A motivational counselling session was also held to encourage the girls to pursue education, self-reliance, and confidence-building.

A major highlight of the programme was a thematic discussion on “Child Marriage: A Menace for the State and Society” conducted by NLU Tripura’s Centre for Women and Child Rights. The session sought to raise awareness about the legal, social, and health consequences of child marriage, while underscoring the role of education and empowerment in ending cycles of poverty and discrimination.

Representatives from the District Administration, Sepahijala, and NLU Tripura reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring a safer and more equitable future for every girl in Tripura.

The two-day exposure tour concluded with expressions of gratitude to the District Administration and the Mission Sankalp team for their continued efforts to protect and rehabilitate vulnerable children and adolescents across the state.
