Kheyerpur Residents Aggrieved Over Poor Road Conditions in West Champamura

Agartala, 30th October 2025:  Residents of Ward No. 2 in West Champamura under the Kheyerpur Assembly Constituency have expressed strong resentment over the deplorable condition of local roads, which have remained neglected for a long time. Despite repeatedly appealing to the authorities, no visible improvement has been made.

Locals allege that political leaders are more focused on serving their own interests rather than addressing public grievances.

Commuters face severe hardship on a daily basis due to pothole-ridden roads filled with stagnant water and mud, which pose serious risks to pedestrians. The situation becomes even more unbearable during the monsoon season.

Elderly residents of the area vented their anger, saying that despite several appeals to the administration, no action has been taken. “Leaders visit us only during election time to make promises, and once the votes are cast, they disappear,” one resident lamented.

Local residents have demanded that the administration take immediate steps to repair and restore the damaged roads. They have also warned of launching a larger agitation if their demands continue to be ignored.
