Agartala, 4th May 2026: Punjab Police with the assistance of Tripura Police arrested wanted shooter Aditya Kapoor, alias Makhon, from West Tripura district. Kapoor had been absconding since December 15, 2025, when three shooters gunned down a man named Ravi Bala Chari in Mohali, Punjab.
Police sources informed that two of the accused were earlier arrested in West Bengal, but Kapoor fled to Tripura and went into hiding. Acting on intelligence, Punjab Police coordinated with their Tripura counterparts and successfully apprehended him.
Today, Kapoor was taken to Punjab on transit remand. DSP Rajan Kumandar Singh of Punjab Police confirmed that the accused will be produced before the Mohali court. He further revealed that Kapoor had been living in Tripura for several months, working as a taxi driver to conceal his identity.
The arrest has sparked significant attention, as authorities believe Kapoor’s interrogation may provide crucial leads in dismantling the wider criminal network involved in the Mohali murder case.
