Agartala, 16th May 2025: A special one-day training camp on food safety and hygiene was organized today at the Conference Hall of Kanchanpur Revenue Dak Bungalow. The initiative, aimed at raising awareness among food vendors associated with hotels, restaurants, and small businesses, was conducted by Corporate Transaction Advisory Private Limited under the motto “Clean Food, Healthy Life.”
The training session saw the participation of hotel owners, restaurant workers, and market traders from Kanchanpur subdivision. Food safety expert Arijit Bhattacharya, who led the session as chief trainer, emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness throughout food preparation, storage, and service. Stressing the consequences of neglecting hygiene, he remarked, “A food vendor’s failure to follow minimum hygiene rules can not only harm his business but also affect the health of the larger society.”
Bhattacharjee elaborated on key hygiene practices, including handwashing before food service, regular disinfection of cooking areas and utensils, checking the production and expiry dates of food items and proper storage at required temperatures.
The event was attended by figures such as social worker Gautam Roy, Kanchanpur Bazar Committee Secretary Tablu Barua, and Kanchanpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Dipak Kumar, IAS, who highlighted the significance of food safety in their addresses. Dr. Kumar emphasized the responsibility of food vendors, stating, “Food is not just a business product, it is a social responsibility. Everyone needs to be aware so that accidents like food poisoning do not happen.”
As part of the camp, participating traders received a food safety guide, masks, gloves and hand sanitizers to implement proper hygiene practices in their businesses. The event was met with great enthusiasm from the local business community, with many expressing appreciation for the initiative and requesting similar programs in the future.
