Agartala: June 08. Five persons were injured while another died after a massive lightning strike them today.
The deceased was identified as Badal Dey (58) who is a farmer died while he was working on agricultural land. The incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Golaghati area.
According to the details of the incident, Badal Dey went to do agricultural work on his land today. He lost consciousness due to a sudden lightning strike while working in the agricultural land. Later, local people and family rescued Badal Dey and took him to Bishalgarh sub-divisional hospital. But the doctor on duty at the hospital declared the farmer Badal Dey dead.
On the other hand, Basanti Saha of Jangalia area, Pabitra Das of East Lakshmibil area, Kulsum Bibi of Arbind Nagar, Sumitra Sarkar Bhowmik of North Brajpur area and Chandan Debnath of Champamura area were seriously injured in the lightning strike.
After they were taken to the Hospital, Basanti Saha, Pabitra Das, Kulsoom Bibi and Sumitra Sarkar Bhowmik were referred to Tripura Medical College and GB Hospitals for better treatment while Chandan Debnath is undergoing treatment at Bishalgarh hospital.
