One held with cannabis worth crore of rupee

Agartala: October 02. Tripura Police today seized cannabis worth one crore rupee and arrested one person. The incident took place at Hawai Bari area under the Teliamura sub-division. During routine checking, the police recovered the cannabis worth about one crore rupee. The driver of the vehicle identified as Sher Sinha was also arrested. According to police, today during vehicle checking in Teliamura Hawai Bari the police has detained a bamboo laden truck on a suspicious condition and brought him to police station.

During preliminary interrogation he has revealed that he was smuggling cannabis. Later, the police brought the vehicle in front of Teliamura police station and after searching it, they seized 1190 kgs of cannabis that was kept in 119 packets. According to the police, the market value of which will be approximately one crore rupee. When asked about today’s operation, the OC of Teliamura police station said that such operation will continue in the coming days.
