Agartala, 10th December 2023: In a determined effort to combat the cultivation of cannabis in the Kalamchoura area, Tripura Police led by Second OC Bidya Debbarma and SI Supratim Dey undertook a successful operation, overcoming previous challenges faced by police personnel.
Last Sunday, the OC visited the Kalamchoura area under the Kalamchoura police station, where cannabis cultivation had been a persistent issue for the past five days. Inspector Bidya Debbarma and SI Supratim Dey faced obstacles during their initial attempts to cut down ganja, with reports indicating that hundreds of women in the area had attacked the OC and other police personnel. With the assistance of the large TSR, women TSR Police, and BSF, approximately 20 thousand cannabis saplings were successfully eradicated.
