Parents warn of protest over dilapidated Madrasa building

Date:

Agartala, 18th April 2026:   Serious concern and anger have erupted among residents and parents in Bhagwan Nagar, Unakoti district, over the dilapidated condition of the Bhagabannagar Government Junior Madrasa building. The structure has become hazardous following extensive damage to its roof and walls during recent storms.

Local sources report that parts of the building are on the verge of collapse, raising fears of a major accident. Parents are deeply worried about the safety of their children attending classes in the madrasa.

In protest, a general meeting was convened on the madrasa premises today at around 10 am with parents and residents in attendance. Parents declared that unless immediate repair work begins, they will stop sending their children to the madrasa.

Parents allege that despite repeated complaints, authorities have yet to take effective action. This perceived negligence has further fueled public resentment.

Issuing a stern message to the administration, parents warned that if renovation work does not commence promptly, they will be compelled to launch a larger movement.

Meanwhile, residents and parents have submitted a written appeal to the District Magistrate and Collector, urging an urgent inspection and immediate renovation of the madrasa building.
