Agartala, 7th September 2025 : Panic spread in Shantir Bazar after a patient reportedly went missing from the District Hospital in the early hours of September 5.
The missing patient has been identified as Manna Das Tripura, a resident of Ramraibari ADC Village under Shantir Bazar Subdivision. According to reports, he had first visited the Ramraibari Primary Health Center with complaints of illness. The attending doctor later referred him to Shantir Bazar District Hospital for better treatment.
However, family members alleged that around 5 am on September 5, while undergoing treatment at the district hospital, Manna Das Tripura went missing. Despite frantic searches, he could not be found.
The incident has left the patient’s family members distraught. Expressing their anguish, they questioned how a patient could go missing from a district hospital that has security personnel on duty.
The family has also lodged a written complaint at Shantir Bazar Police Station. Police have assured that an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, locals are closely watching what steps the hospital authorities and administration will take to trace the missing patient.
