Agartala, September 13: In a recent development, MLA Sudip Roy Barman expressed his lack of support for TIPRA Motha’s call for Greater Tipraland.
During a press conference convened at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan on Wednesday, Roy Barman conveyed that while the demand may hold constitutional validity, its practical realization appears implausible within Tripura’s geographical framework.
He further emphasized the inappropriateness of attempting to secure electoral victories by capitalizing on the sentiments of the populace.
MLA Sudip Roy Barman also highlighted the dire economic situation in the Janjati area, noting that development has come to a standstill. In contrast, he underscored the Congress party’s steadfast commitment to advancing the well-being of the people and urged the passage of the 125th Amendment Bill to facilitate progress.
President of the Pradesh Congress Asish Kumar Saha echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the Congress’s dedication to the people’s development.
He expressed concerns about the escalating challenges faced under the current BJP government and noted a growing influx of individuals aligning with the Congress party in opposition to the incumbent administration.
On this significant day, 267 voters from 57 families severed their affiliations with various political parties to join the Congress. PCC President Asish Kumar Saha and other party leaders welcomed these individuals into the fold, symbolized by the presentation of the party flag to signify their commitment to the Congress’s vision and mission.
