Agartala, 7th June 2025: The Muslim community celebrated Eid-ul-Azha also known as Qurbani Eid or Bakri Eid today with devotion and brotherhood in Jatrapur under the Sonamura subdivision. As in previous years, the festival was observed peacefully with stringent security measures in place.
To maintain order and ensure the safety of devotees, the Jatrapur police station deployed security personnel across the area. From early morning, officers kept a vigilant watch, ensuring no untoward incidents occurred during the religious observance.
According to Jatrapur police station OC Subrata Debnath, the police station’s jurisdiction includes fifty small and medium mosques of which prayers were held at ten locations. Worshippers from multiple mosques gathered for joint prayers, reinforcing the spirit of unity.
A total of 40 personnel including 25 special Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawans were divided into eight teams to oversee security during the prayer sessions. Officers actively engaged with the community, receiving positive responses from the locals, who appreciated the administration’s commitment to maintaining peace.
Additionally, OC Subrata Debnath personally visited various mosques, advising young bikers to adhere to safety norms by wearing helmets while traveling to visit relatives or other locations. His message emphasized road safety alongside the joyous Eid celebrations.
The proactive measures undertaken by the Jatrapur police station have been widely acknowledged by the community, fostering a sense of security and enthusiasm among the Muslim minority population during this significant festival.
