Agartala, December 06, 2022: Chairperson of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), Supratim Bandopadhyay arrives in Tripura today for explaining the significance of National Pension System (NPS) through Subscribers Education and Empowerment Programme (SEEP) under “Protean eGov Technologies Limited”.
Speaking to media persons here at the conference hall of the West Tripura district DM office this morning, PFRDA chairman Bandopadhyay said “In Tripura, many central and state government employees are there under NPS. Apart from them, many subscribers are also there from private sector who voluntarily joined NPS. To aware the beneficiaries under NPS in detail, we have come here.”
“NPS has become a so much important thing as because, a good pension scheme is highly beneficial for the employee as well as his or her family members. After retirement, if he or she don’t have any savings then it becomes difficult for a better livelihood”, he added.
Citing the scheme benefits, PFRDA chairman said “There are two kinds of schemes in NPS and they are Tier-I which deals with actual pension scheme and if any pensioner desire can open Tier-II in which, whatever amount you are depositing can be withdrawn at any time.”
“Tier-I is the main pension scheme where a pensioner can withdraw money for three times only which helps in saving his or her own money. And those who applied for this scheme, they get this benefit as NPS clearly defines pension”, Bandopadhyay told reporters.
PFRD Authority Chief General Manager K Mohan Gandhi and State Finance department’s Additional Secretary Akinchan Sarkar were present in the press conference
