Agartala, 3rd July 2025:   Pradesh Congress MLA and former minister Sudip Roy Barman today launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that while the PM frequently addresses the nation through his radio programme Mann Ki Baat, he remains unwilling to hear the voices of the common people.

Roy Barman made the remarks during a door-to-door campaign aimed at distributing leaflets that counter the narrative of Mann Ki Baat. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks only his own mind, but refuses to listen to the minds of the people. He ignores the mental agony and distress faced by citizens across the country,” the Congress leader said.

He claimed that democracy in India is being throttled, and people from various sections—youth, farmers, and workers—are facing immense financial hardships. “The prices of essential commodities have spiraled out of control, making life difficult for the poor. The BJP government is least concerned about the plight of the underprivileged and is only serving the interests of the wealthy,” Roy Barman alleged.

According to him, the leaflets being distributed reflect the real and unspoken concerns of the masses. “The public response has been tremendous. It’s evident how much pain and anger the people are harboring. The BJP has lost touch with the ground reality,” he said.

Roy Barman also claimed that although many people desire change, they hesitate to support the Congress openly due to fear and what he described as the “fascist nature” of the ruling BJP. “Yet, there’s a clear and growing sentiment in favour of the Congress as a party that stands for the people across all segments of society,” he added.

Meanwhile, senior Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy also joined the campaign and conducted a similar door-to-door outreach in the Dhaleshwar area of Banamalipur Assembly constituency, distributing leaflets to residents.
