Police nabbed six thieves  for looting CBI Camp office in Agartala

Agartala, 13th February 2025:   The NCC police station of Agartala has successfully apprehended six notorious thieves involved in a recent burglary at the old CBI camp in the Capital Complex. Along with their arrest, law enforcement officials have recovered a significant number of stolen items, including cupboards, doors, windows, and a geyser.

Speaking on the breakthrough, SDPO Subrata Barman stated that further interrogation of the accused is likely to reveal crucial information about their wider network of criminal activities.

A few days ago, a group of thieves raided the old CBI camp, making away with various items. Following a written complaint lodged by an inspector of the CBI office, the police initiated an investigation. A special team, led by the Officer-in-Charge of NCC police station and OC Joynal Hossain of Abhaynagar outpost, was formed to track down the culprits.

Initially, two suspects were arrested from the Shyamoli Bazar area. Upon interrogation, they disclosed information that led to the arrest of four more individuals. When questioned at the police station, all six suspects confessed to their involvement in the theft.

Authorities have confirmed that eight cupboards, six doors, four windows, a geyser, and several other stolen items have been recovered from the gang. The arrested individuals will be produced before the court today with a request for police remand to further investigate their operations.
