Police recover five smuggled cattle from Chandipur forest, no arrests

Agartala, 25th April 2025:  Authorities recovered five cattle from Chandipur forest in Kanchanpur during a raid conducted in response to a tip-off about an alleged smuggling operation. However, police failed to arrest anyone involved in the incident.

Official sources informed that the Kanchanpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer received information that several cattle had been tied up in the forested area of Chandipur ADC Village and were intended for smuggling. Acting on this intelligence, a team of police officers, including Kanchanpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer and OC Udyam Debbarma launched a raid in the area.

During the operation, police successfully recovered the cattle and transported them to Kanchanpur Police Station. Despite the rescue effort, no individuals associated with the smuggling were detained. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
