Pradesh Congress observes “Satbhavana Divas” in commemoration of Rajiv Gandhi’s 79th birth anniversary

Agartala, August 19: In a heartfelt tribute to commemorate the 79th birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Pradesh Congress observed “Satbhavana Divas” with solemnity and reverence on Sunday, the 20th of August. The event was marked by a series of meaningful ceremonies that underscored Rajiv Gandhi’s enduring legacy in Indian politics.

The day began with Pradesh Congress workers and ardent supporters embarking on a solemn march from the vicinity of the Agartala Circuit House. This procession, filled with respect and admiration for the late leader, culminated at the Congress building, where the party’s flag was raised and the statue of Rajiv Gandhi was adorned with garlands.

Subsequently, the participants paid their respects at Gandhighat, a symbolic gesture of homage to the visionary leader who left an indelible mark on the nation.

The event witnessed the presence of several prominent figures, including State Congress President Asish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, former MLA Dibachandra Hrangkhwal, as well as dedicated Congress party workers and supporters.

Speaking on the occasion, PCC president Saha highlighted the national significance of commemorating the 79th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi. He emphasized Rajiv Gandhi’s continued relevance in the realm of national service and his visionary dreams for India’s youth.

Saha also underlined Rajiv Gandhi’s profound commitment to peace, noting that the late Prime Minister had made significant sacrifices to ensure the nation’s tranquillity. He stated that Rajiv Gandhi envisioned an India that could rival the West, placing particular emphasis on developing India into an information technology powerhouse. Saha credited Rajiv Gandhi with spearheading advancements in telecommunications that opened new horizons for India, even during that era.

As the Pradesh Congress paid homage to Rajiv Gandhi on his 79th birth anniversary, it was a poignant reminder of his enduring legacy and his unwavering dedication to India’s progress and prosperity.
